Heritance describes the intangible traditions, legacies, and values that are passed down through generations, and this video explores the value of archival images, objects, advertisements, memories, and sounds that depict Black southern life and spirituality.

SÉAN is a mixed-media artist from New Orleans, Louisiana working in sculpture, video, and text. She is an MFA candidate at Columbia University’s Visual Arts program and received a Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana State University. She is inspired by the emotional connection between bodies, places, and communities.
