About the Program

IN RESPONSE: is an annual collaboration between the Jewish Museum and Columbia University’s School of the Arts that began in 2014. Visual Arts MFA candidates and recent alumni participate in a semester-long workshop and create new video, sound, and performance work in response to an exhibition at the Museum.

IN RESPONSE: is organized by Chris Gartrell, Senior Manager of Academic Programs and Jenna Weiss, Assistant Director of Public Programs, the Jewish Museum, with Shelly Silver, Professor, Columbia University School of the Arts.

This website was designed by the Jewish Museum Creative Services team: Yeliz Secerli, Director of Design, Naomi Shultz, Graphic Designer, and Dana Citrin, Production Associate.
