About the Program
IN RESPONSE: was an annual collaboration between the Jewish Museum and Columbia University’s School of the Arts that ran from 2013-2023. Visual Arts MFA candidates and recent alumni participated in a semester-long workshop and created new video, sound, and performance work in response to an exhibition at the museum.

IN RESPONSE: was organized by Chris Gartrell, Senior Manager of Academic Programs and Jenna Weiss, Associate Director of Public Programs, the Jewish Museum, with Shelly Silver, Professor, Columbia University School of the Arts.
This website was designed by the Jewish Museum Creative Services team: Yeliz Secerli, Director of Design, Lauren Frank and Naomi Shultz, Graphic Designers, and Dana Citrin, Production Associate. Technical support provided by Will Fitzgerald, Audio-Visual Coordinator, Calder Singer, Audio-Visual Technician, Kaya Ayala, AV Assistant, and Theresa Hioki, Senior Coordinator.
